Quay Arts is hosting a free Open Weekend event with No Man is an Island on Sunday evening, 25th July celebrating the creative life of Newport Quay. There will be music by the hugely popular Island band The Gramophone Party and an up and coming Island act from Acoustic Originals .
The group of young musicians will be invited to have their first experience of performing at Quay Arts, as a support band, and No Man is an Island will be sharing interactive work from our exhibitions, inviting visitors to help us knit our way to London by adding a stitch with our giant Knitting Nancy! We will also feature our Open Weekend 'challenge' to the public to 'Make a Face for London 2012', to be included in our Seed Bed project.
Quay Arts will be open from 7:30pm to 10pm and the event will be held in the Mingehella Theatre and the Quay Cafe. The event is free but due to seating restrictions, entry is with tickets which will be available from Quay Arts reception in July.
